Dr. Matthew Krutsch, better known as Dr. Matt, is a Coldwater High School graduate. He attended Western Michigan University, where he graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in bio-medicine. After graduating from WMU, he attended the University of Detroit Dental School, where he graduated in 1987 with a doctorate in dental surgery.
Dr. Matt is the second generation of dentists in the Krutsch family. His father, Robert Charles Krutsch, established the family practice in 1957, which was then known as Krutsch Family Dentistry. Dr. Matt took over the practice in 1996, changed the practice name to Adult and Pediatric Dental Care, and has run it ever since.
Dr. Matt is well-versed in all aspects of dentistry, from pediatrics to oral surgery, and endodontics to orthodontics. He has extensive knowledge in the growth and development of children’s teeth, and continues to expand his orthodontic knowledge by attending classes offered through the Faculté For Orthodontic Research and Continuing Education.
Dr. Matt has completed courses at the World Clinical Laser Institute. He uses this knowledge when performing endodontic and periodontal procedures. Using laser therapy increases the possibilities of destroying bacteria, which allows for a better success rate when treating periodontal (gum) disease and/or abscessed teeth.
Dr. Matt is a proud member of St. Charles Church, the Knights of Columbus, and of the Branch County Area Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Matt serves as president of the Community Health Center Foundation, as well as president of Coldwater Youth Basketball.
He has won Branch County Health Care’s “Provider of the Year” award, as well as the “Helping Hands” award from the State of Michigan.
Dr. Matt and his wife, Karen, live in Coldwater with their three sons, Adam, Matthew and Jacob. When he’s not at work, Dr. Matt enjoys golfing, basketball, boating, tennis, racquetball and relaxing with his family.
